Sun Valley, Calif.—Merritt International, a leader in the casual tableware industry, will unveil its latest introductions from its heavy-weight melamine collections for 2018 during the winter markets in Atlanta, Dallas, Las Vegas and New York.
During the markets, each new collection will be showcased in attractive “table stories,” which are dining vignettes using color and themes. These motifs will complement solid dining pieces, drinkware, placemats and serving pieces. The displays are meant to provide inspiration for retailers setting up tabletop displays within their shops.
The Italian Riviera and Tuscany Collections will headline the 2018 introductions. The Italian Riviera line captures the essence and colorations of the picturesque coastline and seaside communities. The colors of the Tuscany collection are reminiscent of the natural, rich hues of the landscape and architecture known to the region, such as the red-tiled rooftops and the muted green of the cypress trees and olive groves.
The White Marble dinnerware pairs natural-looking marble vein with white melamine. And for a playful feel, the Mystique Stripe collection features whimsical, concentric circles in bursts of bright colors. Mystique Stripe comes in an aqua and green palette, alongside a rust and cream option, that’s sure to turn any occasion into a festive party.
Starfish and anchors splash across the cobalt blue background of the Speckled Nautical Collection. Pieces are sprinkled with white accents that mimic the light reflecting and dancing off ocean waters.
“Our collections for 2018 highlight something for everyone, including exciting color stories, artistry and natural elements,” said Kimberly Plummer, sales and marketing manager for Merritt Designs. “The designs within the collections are examples of work by two of our most popular table top designers: Erica Friedman Studio and Tre Sorelle.”
